We were delighted to host our first ever 'Edible Land and Seascapes' event overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the Little Beach House in Malibu, California.
Our co-founder Archie and the Black Cow team welcomed some very special guests including Ridley Scott, Orlando Bloom, Christina Hendricks, Chris Pine, Bob Pittman and David Naylor who joined in with a fascinating discussion about food in the 21st century and the impact it's having on our planet.
A seasonal four-course menu was designed for the event by friend of Black Cow and celebrated chef Mark Hix OBE. Plus Black Cow cocktails were created for each course by Kim Stodel, bar manager of Providence in LA. Known for his innovative 'zero-waste' drinks, Kim utilised left-over ingredients from the dishes that the cocktails were paired with.
Our founder Archie, said: “We don’t often consider the food we eat and the impact it’s having on our planet.
“It was great to have all of our friends together to chat about where great food truly comes from; healthy soil, clean water and thriving habitats.
"Black Cow makes good use of whey, the problem child of the dairy industry. We take what people perceive as a waste product and turn it into the smoothest vodka in the world.”
We're looking forward to hosting similar events in the UK and beyond soon.
